how to make order no. field alphanumeric

my client want to add order no. like SP8001

so how to make order field alphanumeric.

You can't make the DocNum field to alphanumeric but you can use the Manual Number to store an alphanumeric document identifier.

On the header part of the marketing documents there is a field named Manual Number . This is a 20 character alphanumeric field and you can fill it with the required identifier.
