Posting Periods

Hi,

Can any one explain me what is meant by Posting periods. What we mean closing the period and opening the periods"?. If we have closed a period by MMPV , can we again able to open that period?.

Pls suggest me.

Dear,

In MMPV you can close the last period.

Good posting date is posting period current date will be posting date it will appear in trancsation.

Code OB52 Change View "Posting Period

Can we again able to open that period? : - Yes you can.

How open the period , once we have closed the period in advance by mistake

Hi,

If you want to open previous period for reversal entry or additional entry

The following are steps for Opening previous period in MM :

1. Go to TCode SU01 (see OSS NOTES 487381)

2. Choose "change" tab with your loging Name

3. Choose "Parameter" tab

give Parameters MMPI_READ_NOTE with date format as YYYYMMDD

(say today 20090331)

4. SAVE.

5. Go to T-code MMPI

6. open the old periods which you want to post into,

Note :

the period opening will be valid for only for the particular day only.

7. Complete the posting you want to reverse or add

8. Go to MMPV to close the periods

Note :

If we enter the date or month in MMPV means we are opening that date or month by closing previous date or month

(Never use MMPV without completing the transaction in previous month)

Hi Sankaran,

Thanks a lot. Now i am able to confirm my Production order.

But can u please let me know ,what is the use of changed we have done in the "Parameter" tab of "SU01" Transaction.

Now should i again edit the "SU01" transaction. Can i keep the changes as it is ?.

Please let me know whether i am able to confirm production orders tomorrow ( 01.04.2009).

Check Tcode MMRV and MMPV, take help with your MM and FICO person
