Delta Load / Full Load with Repair question

Hi All,

I have a quick question. I have a data source 'A' feeding targets "T1" "T2" via delta load. Now I will add a third target T3 but I need historical data as well.

The questions is: Can I do a full Load With Repair to T3 and at the same time can I go ahead with regular delta load schedule to T1 and T2?

So the main question is: if I run a "full load with repair" and "delta load" at the same time from the same source to different targets would they affect each other?

(Since historical data amount to T3 is too large I cannot hold the other targets' delta load)

I will appreciate any help with points.

U can do one thing.....

Delete the Init flag for T1 and T2............add T3............run init without data transfer............after that u can for regular delta for these three targets.......

When the load in the system is less...........and once the delta got completed..........Start the full repair for T3......

Hi Mike,

It is not Possible with the lower Versoins but it is possible in BI7.0.

You can upload repairful for T3 by using a different DTP from the same Datasource.

Hi,

If I understand correctly,I hope the targets are DSOs. You can very well add a new target and load that with delta loads.

For Historical data loading, there are 2 options.

1) You could do a repair full update

2) you can use the reconstruction option to update the new target by each delta request.

Yes they are all DSOs but the thing is I cannot stop delta loads during full load with repair to T3. I cannot use reconsturction option as well since there is a new field added

Hi Mike,

You can perform full and delta simulteneously only if your both data targets are on Overwrite mode. This way even while loading delta if you kick off Full repair load, records that were part of delta will be overwritten by records in full repair.

Perform full repair in ranges of say doc. no, posting date. etc.. this way you dont need to wait to activate the delta request till complete full repair request finishes. You can load delta and little bit full repair and then activae both.
