Users to be maintained for Principal Propagation

Hi All,

I need to configure Principal Propagation for a couple of SRM scenarios on PI7.1.

I've been through documentation for Configuring Principal Propagation.

It's mentioned that the user to be propagated must exist on all three systems involved ie. Sender (ERP), Receiver (SRM) with appropriate role (Buyer) and PI system with SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER role.

Now if I have - say 10000 users on the Sender ERP system, this would mean that these users have to be created on the SRM and PI systems. This would be a tedious task wrt creation + maintenance.

Would I have to actually create 10000 users on the systems ? or is there any other way out ?

Thanks,

Ashwin

Hi,

Would I have to actually create 10000 users on the systems ? or is there any other way out ? - For using Principal Propagation, you will have to create 10000 users in these systems ..........But this is not a good idea for such a large number of users as the creation + maintainance effort will be high....

So i will suggest you to not to use Principal Propagation for your this particular case........instead have a single SM59 connection to send data to the target system............

Hi,

There is a concept of using central user administration , you can have single user database (LDAP) serving as a single user database for three different systems.
