Unable to Print the whole Container which has other Web items in WAD

Hi Experts,

I have built a report in WAD. I have created a container and placed other web items (like Anlaysis item, text etc) in a defenite pattern (like 2 web items in the same row).

I created a 'Button' web item and selected the 'Export' command for PDF and selected the container as the web item in the data binding to be printed.

When I ran the report, it did not print anything. However when I used all the web items individually in the data binding, it did print when I ran the report. But all the web items were printed one below the other, which is not desired.

If I am right, the whole concept of Container is to place different web items in a pattern and I am finding it difficult to print the entire pattern in the pdf format.

Kidly confirm if I am doing something wrong or is there any special setting I have to do.

Thanks,

Sai

    Hi Sai,

the standard functionality of export command within WAD is limited to the following special web items:

    ● Analysis

    ● Chart

    ● Maps

    ● Report

    ● Info Field

    ● List of Exceptions

    ● List of Conditions

    ● Text

However please be aware that there are a lot of constraints. The official statement of SAP is as follows (source: see link at the end of post):

"When multiple Web items are embedded, they are generally arranged under one another in the print version. You cannot change how the Web items are arranged. To produce a neater layout in the print version, use the Report Web item only (see above)."

The above mentioned quotation of SAP means that you can not arrange web items within your print version using i.e. container layout items. If you want to know more details take a look over here:

    Hi Sainath,

I guess, you should use container layout instead of a container.

In container layout property, you need to bind the web items and in the Export command, simply bind the container layout.

    This should work.
