Missing data

Hi,

I loaded data into DSO and Cube. Lot of records are missing. For ex: There are 11 records for one salesorder in PSA that is reduced to 2 records in DSO and finally only one record in Cube. I was exploring for similar issues in the forums.

Hi Latha.....

There may be several reasons behind this.....

1) Check whether any routine is used in the transformation or not.........may be data r getting eliminated before getting loaded in the Target......

2) Check the Update mode in the the Transformation for the DSO.....if it is additive..........it means for the same key value......data will be sum up..

3) Infocube is by default additive..........

U hav said........

For ex: There are 11 records for one salesorder in PSA that is reduced to 2 records in DSO and finally only one record in Cube....

Just check the technical key............sum up the total keyfigure value..........Just check......

Hi Latha,

The above comments are true, the best way to cross check it is, for a perticular order, select all the records in PSA, add the Key Figures. Then goto your ODS, select all the records for this order again sum up the KF.

Check if the sum matches. If it matches, then it indicates that the data is proper. Which I am sure will be.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Hi Latha,

PSA is a table with only technical keys(request no.,records no., packet no.) whereas DSO has semantic keys (doc. num etc).

For.eg DSO key is Document number only.

In PSA if you have same document number for 10 records and diferent for 1 you will have two records into the DSO as first 10 records will overwrite one after another.Thats why you may have two records in DSO.

In addition plase also see how many are added to the DSO (in manage tab). If one record is added then it will add same in cube.

Another reason could be routine in between DSO and PSA & DSO and cube. Check if there is any delete statement in the start or update routine.

Please let me know if this doesnt solve your problem.

Kind Regards,

Viren

Never compare no.of records between PSA & datatargets (DSO&Cube)

PSA has flat structure and shows all records from R/3..where as DSO & Cube consolidated data based on keys...

for example, if u have 10 records (in PSA) for a comp_code...When comes to DSO those mays be 2 or 3 depends on keys, u defined in DSO..and same applies to Cube too..

All u have to concentrate is on keyfigure totals (like balances, quantity) weather they are matching between PSA & DSO/Cube for that key (say comp_code)
