"Account team member" party role does not allow users to see opportunities / activities ?

Dear all,

In the account team of an account it is possible to set an user as an "211-Account team member". If an user is assigned as an account team member in an account, we want him to be able to read/write all opportunities & activities linked to this account.

We maintained the "account team member" as an involved party in opportunities and activities business configuration, so account team members can be determined in opportunities and activities. However, it seems that even if an account team member is replicated from an account to its opportunities or activities, he will not have the right to access these objects.

Do you have any idea about the issue?

Thanks for a any support

Hello Marie,

Can you please clarify the access restriction that you have used in the Business Role set-up?

Is it: "11 - Employee, Accounts (Account Team)" or "12 - Employee, Accounts (Account and Territory Team)" or something else?

Kind regards,

Carina.

Hello Carina,

We tried two access restrictions: "1 - Employees (for Managers)" as it was the recommended one, and then

"11 - Employee, Accounts (Account Team)" as the first one was not working.

However we still have the issue with the second one.

Kind regards,

Marie

Hey Marie,

Then it is exactly how it should work. We have implemented the same approach on our project. The account restriction is "sales org" (for other reasons) but for the opportunities we have the Read/Write access restricted with "11 - Employee, Accounts (Account Team)" and it works exactly like that:

Employee ABC is assigned in the account team (not as employee responsible) --> an opportunity is created for that account --> employee ABC is transferred into the involved parties. --> Employee ABC can see the opportunity.

I personally would raise an incident and, in the mean time, I would check the Business role / Business user update log...there might be errors there that are causing inconsistencies.

What opportunities does the Account Team member actually see at the moment? Only those belonging to him?

Hello Carina,

Thank you so much for looking into that 🙂

The Account Team member cannot see any opportunity as we have a rule : opportunity owner = account owner.

We opened an incident but still waiting for a feedback from Support, they are running tests.

This issue is affecting the role "211 - Account team member" only, all other roles are working just as you described it, so I am not sure that it is linked to the business roles settings. This is strange as "Account team member" is a standard C4C party role, while other "custom" roles we created work properly.

Kind regards,

Marie-Violaine

Hi Marie,

Did you solve this? I thought now again about your error because I discovered recently that Account Team Member is a party role that is transferred in the Sales Team of the opportunity and not in the involved parties.... This might have something to do with your issue.

Thank you and kind regards,

Carina.
