restrict within search exit

Hi,

how can I create a "search exit" for matnr (Materialnumber) whereby I could e.g. restrict.

Show only Matnr where begins with the number 1 .

hi in the selection method give a database view name..

During the process of creating the database view, in the selection criteria (operand LIKE) of the view select pattern and give 1% and use that view as the selection method in the search help.

Moved to the correct forum.

This is a very basic question. You should start by looking at the selection conditions of some standard SAP search help views..

you are very funny. Please stop telling me such nonsense things.

Do you thing it is boring to me why I am asking this question right here

in order to hear what I have still to learn at this time.

Ouch - if I had feelings, I think they'd be hurt now.

Seriously - look at existing search helps and views.

yes julius. Because I am trying to solve this problem.

But in this case there is no success in sight.

If you want to be able to restrict the ability of the search help... then you will need to wait for me to go to sleep as well because I don't know them off hand in the MATNR area.

SE37 => BAPIMANTRSEARCH => F4?

If you want to enable the search help to restrict patterns such as 1* for a field when searching, then take a look at the search help's for any other standard search function on MATNR...

This is what Rob suggested as well, and based on the information provided in your question it is a fair comment.

Cheers,

Julius

Don't know whether you will be able to restrict your search help, but this is sure, you will be restricted from this site . Best of luck.

I guess Kuntal will be yet another person who won't be willing to answer your questions in future either...

Perhaps the next batch of freshers will have spammed you again with help.sap.com links when you wake up in the morning?

Good night,
