Facing WIP Valution process for old Production orders that are TECO.

Hi Gurus,

several old production orders that had been technically completed had been picked up in the WIP valuation process. These orders had been completed however in the WIP G/L values had been posted against these closed orders. Upon viewing the material movements against these production orders using COOIS there was no documented goods movements against these orders.

When i checked the status for this orders i found that variance is calculated.

Please help me finding the root cause for the above issue and solution for the same.

Thanks for your understanding.

Naveen,

Check whether you have RESA status in the Orders. I think this orders were taken up for WIP calculation after TECO status, please do the following,

1) KKAX (WIP calcualtion)

2) KKS2 (Variance Calculation)

3) KO88 (Settlement) - settlement period would be the period in which the costs were incurred and the Posting period should be current period

Hi Prasobh,

Yes, we have the status RESA ( results analysis carried out) for these orders.

Please explain the root cause clearly.

Thank u.

Naveen,

When WIP is run and if the Order does not have TECO or DLV status, the WIP is calculated and Posted to the WIP GL account and also RESA system status is set to the order.

In the subsequent WIP run, for the RESA status set orders program looks and see if TECO status or DLV status is active. If it is active the WIP values is reversed from the WIP GL account. after this you would need to run Variance and Settlement to make the order balance Zero.

In your case probably after setting TECO status to the orders you might not have processed these orders for WIP calcualtion.

Prasobh

Hi,

Were these Orders already settled, or just the variances were calculated on these orders. Also check if there were any confirmations done on these orders. Hope that helps.
