Where can I find documentation on Objects - Help me to help myself!

Hi,

Is there somewhere on the SDN (or anywhere) where I can get information on the various classes in ABAP? Things similar to what the PATTERN button gives, but with an explanaiton of what the class or method does and an explanation of the parameters?

I am often able to find what I think is a correct method that I need, but an explanation of what it does would be nice as well as what the different parameters mean.

Does this documentation exist anywhere?

Many thanks!

Andy

No. any documentation if available will be on SE24 only.

Just search with the class and the replies posted here can provide you the information.

Thank you very much Prasad GVK.

This is very good information on Objects and it will help me to reinforce the concepts. I will read it.

I am still interested in specific information about each class/method.

For example, I am working with CL_SALV_COLUMN_TABLE->SET_COLOR and did not know what to use for the COLOR parameter. Where would I look to find the valid values for that parameter?

This is the kind of documentaion that I am looking for.

Like Amit said, it's all online within SE24 navigation. For your example, put the cursor on the method and click the documentation button (about middle of the button row on top of the method overview).

Thanks Thomas...that's actually the last piece of information that I was looking for...that documentation button for the method. Too darned many buttons for us newbies!

Thanks alot!!!
