SAP Treasury Position Management

Hi,

can some explain what exactly the position management in SAP TRM is?, i have seen customizing briefing on PMP etc., but i still cant understand Position management relevance in layman terms.

your help appreciated.

Hello Kranthi Kumar Devangam,

Parallel Accounting Principle

1. SM30 => TRGC_PM_PROC_A S S: you can assigne several PMP to different valuation area.

2. SM30 => TRGV_PM_PROC: here you can assign different PMP diffrenet valuation procedure (valuation, amortization, etc). So with PMP we can differentiate valuation rules for different accounting rules.

Thanks for the response Grigor, my question was mainly on "Position Management" in General, how different is it from individual financial transaction, i understand it deals with multiple transactions consolidates the data of multiple financial transactions that we do.
