RF Bin verification with Lean WM

Dear Experts,

I was exploring the requirement of our customer who is working with lean WM.

They would like to enable their fixed bins with Bar Codes and would like to use RF hand-held devices for confirming their putaway and picking movements. This requires the ability to verify bin labels for picking and putaway TO confirmation.

However I have realized that in Lean WM setup the bins cannot be verified. The verification fields are not visible and hence I believe we cannot scan them using a hand-held device.

Can you please clarify is this is the standard behaviour or there is a missing config which I am not aware of.

Also highly appreciate your views on a potential solution to make the bins verifiable without having the need to go for a full WM.

Lean WM contrary to its name is not warehouse management solution, it does not manage stock on storage bin level. Thus bin verification is not feasible here. Lean WM is just to confirm put away or picking tasks.

I'd suggest to go with full WM, with very simple setup of fixed bins. That would fulfill the customer requirements in standard SAP functionality.

Hi Dominik,

Thank you for your valuable inputs. This was exactly the path I was thinking to go with.

However, I was keen to understand from experts like you if any one had ever come across such requirement with Lean WM.

I will evaluate/prototype with a simple WM org structure (full) and see how it goes. Thanks again.
