Table and Index extend size

Hi,

Below table shows table and index extend value and max extend values help me out to either increase the maxextend value how much i can increase or how can reduce the extend value i am working on oracle 7.3 version.

Wow, Oracle 7.3 - that's something that really passed away a long time ago.

Ok, what can you do?

For the extent sizes it would have been a good idea to use SAPDBA to adapt the NEXT extent sizes in time (e.g. before getting that close to the maximum no. of extents 500).

Anyhow, you still should be able to use SAPDBA to perform the adaption.

For a better 'make over' you would need to reorganize the tables and rebuild the indexes.

So with your version in place, that means export/import the tables.

Make sure to have set the NEXT value to a more sensible value (say 10 MB) before exporting the tables.

p.s.

There isn't even any kind of SAP software around that would be supported on Oracle 7.3.

As upgrades usually get harder the more versions you try to skip, make sure that you know you're going to get in troubles with that...
