    Hi joyce,

At which step exactly are you facing this error.

If you are trying to select the DBMS server while creating an MDM repository and you are not able to view the DBMS instance, then you have an option to ADD the instance and then selecting the same.

You can have a look at the Matser guide which talks about the installations and use of MDM:

    https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001119842007E

    Hope It Helped

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Joyce,

Do you mean that you are not able to see the DBMS type in the Repositories pane in Console? I am not clear with your question.

    Check the following :

--While creating the repository , you can choose the DBMS Server from an existing one or add a new one by clicking on the "..." button and Add the instance name followed by the DBMS server type in the square braces. Ex:ABC[Max DB]

--You can also check the DBMS settings.

--Also try to check the configuration in mdm_list.ini in MDM Server.

    --Check the following link

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdmgds55/helpdata/EN/88/9f9c427055c66ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm(DBMS Settings)

Let me know if this resolved your issue.

    Regards

    SR

    Hi All,

Encountering the same problem as well...

Details on where exactly the problem is

    1. Open MDM Console

    2. Mount Server

    3. Right click on server and choose "Create Repository"

    4. On the "Create MDM Repositorty" window, you should see...

    DBMS Server: <drop down box><... button>

    Login: <text box>

    Password: <text box>

    Repository Name: <text box>

    Port: <text box>

    5. Click on the browse button or "..." button

    6. On the "Select DBMS Server" window, click on "Add..." button

    7. On the "Add DBMS Server" window

    DBMS Server: <text box>

    DBMS Type: <drop down box> : PROBLEM

Problem: When you select the set of values in the drop down box for DBMS Type in step 7, the only values provided are IBMDB2, Oracle, and SQL_Server. We can't see the "Max DB" value.

    Versions

    SAP MDM: 5.5

    Max DB: 7.7

    Windows: 32 bit

    Thanks,
