Backup Procedure

Hi Experts,

we have SRM production server and our company backup stategy is to take offline backup every Saturday.we also take a archive log backup but we dont take online back. my question is this make any sense to keep database in archive log mode when we are not taking any online backup.

Please give me your expert suggession.

yes....you can always apply the archive logs to the offline backups,

I guess you are in wrong misconception that we can't apply archive logs to full offline backup for restore.

We can use archive logs + offline backup to recover the database until the point you want,so please dont run your system without archivelogs

I would also recommend you to take an online backup in evening if possible
