Hi Gurus,
I have installed HANA express edition on GCP for learning purpose. When I try to load WebIDe for HANA using the URL 'https://vhcalhxedb:53075', I get the user login page. I log in using 'XSA_DEV' user and the next screen appears is 'WebIDE loading'. The issue is that it keeps on loading and the WebIDE is never loaded. Any help or guidance is much appreciated.
Regards,
Ashish
Hi,
What browser are you using? What do you see in the console (f12)? What environment and version is this?
You say you are using CAL but this is tagged as GCP. Which one is it?
Please bear in mind the version in CAL is in the previous SPS, I would recommend getting an updated fresh version straight from the launcher in the provider you are using:

Lucia.

Hi Lucia,
Thanks for your reply. I was using the CAL solution for SAP HANA Express Edition deployed on GCP. Now I am using the SAP HANA Express Edition Directly on GCP and not via CAL. This is much faster to deploy and restart than CAL and other services such as WEBIde take super less time to start compared to CAL solution on GCP.

Hi Ashish and Lucia,
We have been working on HANA Express 2.0 SPS 3 on GCP for the past two months and it has been working well until yesterday. WebIDE is not launching correctly for my user id since yesterday after i tried to restart di-core, di-runner, and webide. It seems something regarding my user id is cached that is causing the problem. I tried from different browsers with my user id and got the same issue. It works fine for other user ids so it is not a browser specific issue.
I created a question for the issue:
https://answers.sap.com/questions/666056/sap-web-ide-for-sap-hana-hangs-for-a-certain-user.html
Thanks,
Jay
Hi Ashish - I think your issue is because the di-core is crashing because it is running out of memory when trying to pass back the workspace data. I had the same issue on Google Cloud Platform Hana 2.0 SPS 3 - and I resolved it by increasing the di-core and di-runner processes though it was di-core that was crashing. I just created a Blog - Fixing SAP WebIDE issues on SAP HANA Express Edition 2.0 SPS 3. I hope this helps.

Jay

vhcalhxedb is usually the host name of HXE running on SAP CAL. If you started it on GCP, then the host name should be hxehost. Can you double check?

I just tried to change hxehost to vhcalhxedb in hosts file for my HXE hosted on GCP out of curiousity, but for me it could not even open the logon page.
Nevertheless, I had an issue with opening WebIDE on GCP-based HXE as well in the past. But in my case it was enough to upgrade software components.
The new Rev 31 for SPS2 is available now:
https://blogs.sap.com/2018/07/16/sap-hana-express-edition-sps03-revision-31-available-for-download/
so you might want to try doing this as well.Hi Ashish,
Please check the new troubleshooting guide in my blog.
You might find solution under this topic: "SAP Web IDE Hangs and Doesn't Open"
Let me know if you need further information.

Ofer

Hi Ofer,
Thanks for the reply. I am using SAP HANA Express Edition from Cloud Appliance library(cal.sap.com). When I create the instance of this solution on GCP, it automatically installs the Web IDE. As per your blog, do I need to reinstall the Web IDE on the solution from cloud appliance library?
In the console, I can see that bootstrap.js not loaded with 404 error. /che was not loaded with 503 error.

Ashish
