Dear all,
Can any body tell me how much time will take to do configuration of Outlook and CRM integration???
if possible please tell me the steps ..............and what components i need to install for this integration??
Thanks & Regards,
Raj
Hello Raj,
There are two ways in integrating your CRM server to MS Outlook
One is through Server Based groupware integration and the other is through client based groupware integration. The Server based integration takes a long time and requires few Installations in the CRM Server.
Client Based Integration can be done easily, Follow the steps mentioned below
- Log on the CRM Web UI
- Go to the Personalize settings in the Web UI, and Click on the Installation of Groupware Integration software.
- A setup is installed on the local harddrive, u actually need to sun the set up
- maintain the parameters like ur server name etc... in Edit groupware Integration settings
You can synchronize your tasks, appointments and contacts from ur CRM Server to MS Outlook.

Rahul

Hi Raj,
Server based GWI is dynamic in nature. I mean to say once you make changes in SAP the changes automatically gets reflected in your outlook or lotus notes. You can exchange data such as business partner data and CRM activities like appointments and tasks between groupware and SAP which is bidirectional in nature
Only groupware employees can have this access.
To achieve this you need to do Groupware Adapter,SAP Groupware connector(Lotus oor Outlook).
You can have a look at this sap help

I suppose you have done the outlook client add-in settings in MS Outlook Options.
The reason could be the SSL activation on you CRM Server. You should open a new port for HTTPS protocol.
A prerequisite for this action is to install SAP Cryptographic Software installation.
So to summarize,
1. install sap crypto. software
2. open the port for HTTPS
3. add the parameters to SMICM (you should finally see the parameters in tx. SMICM > Go To > Parameters > Display)
4. Finally go to MS Outlook CRM Calendar Sync. Tool Options and in the host name field add the HTTPS port info :
e.g. enter crm.sap.com:443 instead of crm.sap.com

Thanks for the reply again........
i am using client based GWI..............
I have done all settings as u mentioned but when i try to Synchronization the Outlook with CMR.... outlook is giving error "Synchronization could not be executed due to error during data retrieval from CRM" but when i am trying to synchronize the system from SAP CRM it will transfer my all Tasks and activities in to outlook.......
same time Contacts are not transfered from SAP CRM to Outlook...........is there any special setting required for contacts ????
i would like to know one more thing whether we can add all emails which are send thru SAP CRM in to Outlook...............
plz guide me how to solve these issues............
Thanks & Regards,
Raj
The reason why you can't synchronize is because it's safe to send information from CRM to client (You are IN the system), but it's not safe to request information from only outlook. So you have to use a secure protocol to be able to request info from your outlook client.
As you can synchronize from CRM but not from Outlook, the reason is very clear. (HTTPS & SSL)
Because of that you should see in SMICM > Go To > Parameters > display
something like this :
icm/server_port_2 = PROT=HTTPS, PORT=8001, PROCTIMEOUT=300, TIMEOUT=1800
server_port_X and Port=XXXX can change based on your implementation.
and also these parameters :
HTTPS (SSL) settings
icm/HTTPS/verify_client = 1
ssf/name = SAPSECULIB
ssf/ssfapi_lib = F:\usr\sap\XXX\DVEBMGS00\exe\sapcrypto.dll
sec/libsapsecu = F:\usr\sap\XXX\DVEBMGS00\exe\sapcrypto.dll
ssl/ssl_lib = F:\usr\sap\XXX\DVEBMGS00\exe\sapcrypto.dll
Here XXX is your system ID.
Finally in transaction SMICM there is a button called "Services" (Shortcut : Shift + F1), there you should see a green tick in the HTTPS line. This shows that HTTPS is active.

Thanks Cenk.....
Finally in transaction SMICM there is a button called "Services" (Shortcut : Shift + F1), there you should see a green tick in the HTTPS line. This shows that HTTPS is active.
I have checked the t code SMICM > Service here i have seen a green tick in the HTTP Line...
SMICM> Go To > Parameters > display
i found the following setting of HTTPS (SSL)
HTTPS (SSL) settings
icm/HTTPS/verify_client = 1
ssf/name =
ssf/ssfapi_lib =
sec/libsapsecu =
ssl/ssl_lib =
please let me know this setting is correct or not and if some setting required to be changed then provide some steps so i can change the required configuration ................
Thanks & Regards,
Raj
Hi Raj,
I guess you haven't installed yet SAP Cryptographic Software. Tell your basis guys that you need SAP Cryptographic Software to be installed on the CRM Server, and to adjust the profile parameters of the server. There are some notes that they can easily find.
In addition to this they need to enable the HTTPS protocol on a new port (like 8001 or 443).
Finally you will be able to see in SMICM > Services a new line with HTTPS and a green tick.
Then you will be able to synchronize from the outlook.
