Migrating TREX to a new server

Hello all,

I need to migrate an existing TREX installation to a new server.

The DB (Oracle) and the O/S (Solaris) will remain the same except the version of Solaris will change. That is the reason for the move - to decommission the old server that TREX currently resides on.

I don't have any experience with TREX, so I'm wondering what is the best way to do this - do you do a system copy using sapinst as you would for ECC or SRM for example? Or would you reinstall and then redo the config? Is there any documentation about this process - I haven't been able to find any.

Also, the plan is to move TREX from its own server at the moment to share with the Central Instances of some other systems and also with IPC (which I also have to move, if anyone knows anything about that!)

I thought that TREX was best installed on a dedicated server, or is that no longer necessary?

Any ideas / experiences / knowledge most welcome.

TIA.

Regards.....John.
