Hello,
We have a use case from one of our customer and I am not sure how ByD can support this
In a group, there are Company A and Company B
Company A has a customer project and wants to subcontract part of the service to Company B
An intercompany project is then created in Company B to allow them to assign time and expenses.
Then Company B wants to subcontract the work to a third party company but we are not allowed to create any purchase request from an intercompany project
How can we track time and expenses related to this subcontracting from Company B and assign the costs to initial customer project ?
Thanks for your help
Nathalie
Hello Tim, we eventually stopped using interco projects and created separate projects in both companies. Through reports we were then able to identify costs and issue manual invoices from Company B to Company A

Hi Nathalie,
the intercompany process in ByDesign does not work in the recursive fashion that you are looking for. You already found that out.
The only option you have to bring 3rd party expenses to the intercompany project in B is to account-assign a 3rd party supplier invoice to the intercompany project connected to the customer project in A. The intercompany project will not be offered in the value help, but when you "insist" and press ENTER twice, the project will be accepted.
This, of course, still leaves you with the question where to have the 3rd party staff do time recording. There is no really good answer to that question.
Best regards
Otfried
