Landscape Migration

Experts,

I have 3 tier system still in consulting/build phase and we have determined the final QAS & PRD servers are undersized. We are planning on moving ALL 3 systems to new hardware. We will keep Win2003 & SQL 2005 on source & target systems. I'm having trouble detemining what is best practice in this instance? Which high-level procedure has highest success rate?

Scenario A:

Install ECC6 and approrpiate patchs on new DEV

System copy from DEV (Source) to DEV (Target)

Install ECC6 & patchs on QAS & PRD

Establish TMS

Move ALL historic transports from new DEV to new QAS

Move ALL historic transports from new QAS to new PRD

Scenario B:

Install ECC6 and approrpiate patchs on new DEV

System copy from DEV (Source) to DEV (Target)

Install ECC6 and approrpiate patchs on new QAS

System copy from QAS (Source) to QAS (Target)

Install ECC6 and approrpiate patchs on new PRD

System copy from PRD (Source) to PRD (Target)

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
