Problem with my server affecting my models connections in SAP Analytics Cloud

Former Member

Hello everyone,

I have a question and a doubt about something that happened to my system.

The main server, where the SQL data is storaged is down, and the administrators must reinstall the OS. The SQL DB has backup, but the models in my histories are giving some errors because the connector was removed.

My question is: When the system would be restored i must create the models again and load this in the story again?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

i haven't tried this with RDBMs (but have done with oData)..

i think you could retrieve the existing model , clear out the facts/dimensions , then do "import from.." and pick up a new/same connection and go through the integration/mapping screen to flush through the new records from the restored DB.

Hi henry,

I created the connector configuration again and the models are working again. Thank you very much for the help. I only wanna know the diference between Master and Shadow, because i need to know if there is a way to backup all the information and don't create everything from zero.

Regards.
