hI,
Please give me the brief & Example about Customer Material Information Record.
Thanks,
Rajesh.
Rajesh,
CMIR is defined as Customer Material Information record. There will be certain scenarios where you would be maintaining customer specific material information in that case this CMIR will be very useful.
Path for executing:
Easy Access --> SD --> Agreements --> Customer Material Information --> Create or TCode: VD51
This CMIR helps you in accessing the material maintained for this customer. When you raise sales order for this particular customer the system fetches the material and plant related in a faster and better way, rather than fetching material through the material no.
Moreover for determining the plant based on hierarchy
1. CMIR
2. Customer Master
3. Material Master
CMIR is chosen ahead. Apart from cust material description field you are also provided with cust description field.
Regards
Sathya

Apart from the inputs given already CMIR is a absolute master control record where you can maintain a lot of informations and controls like shipping related data ,plant etc for a specific customer material combination
In VD51 we maintain that
Go to VD51 and check what all we can maintain there
Suppose in VD51 there are some records maintained for a particular customer and material combination when that particular customer and material combination appears in a sales order the CMIR record will have the priority over your CMR or MMR
CMIR maintained means then CMIR will have the highest priority than the other masters

Dear Rajesh
Please make a search in the forum before posting such basic questions.
Customer Material Info Record is used where the customer insists to show their part reference in the billing documents. If you do business with overseas countries like Europe, UK this is mandatory.
thanks
