Hi,
Is there any standard report for deleting entries of ZARIX tables in XI in order to reduce its size?
The size of our ZARIXBC1 table is 20GB already, is huge.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I do not think there is a standard report to reduce entries of a custom table.
If it's a custom development it should have its' own archiving report.
What is ZARIXBC1 used for?

Sergio

Hi Ajay,
As procedure we delete any archive file older than 30 days, so can we safely delete infostructure records from ZARIX table also older than 30 days right?
Also if I understood correctly after deleting the infostructure the session goes into error/red light since we can no longer build the related data from the archives due to the missing infostructures right?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Do you mean to say delete archive spool list or archive files after 30 days?
In general
Archive files are created from write job, Store function stores these archive file into the Archive server and Delete job will deletes archived data from the database.
Now are you deleting archive files from the archive server?
In case, if you delete these archive files then you can't retrieve even from the archive infostructure or any other options.
2. After deleting the data from the infostructure you can rebuild it at any give point till archive session (archive file) presence in archive server.
Try to build the structure for archive session no you have deleted.
-Thanks,
Ajay

i do not recommend deleting the archive files. leave them be. you might want to set up an externa server where you can store those archive files (for eternal keeping). there are 3rd party products available, but generally everything supporting archive link for an interface will do. to reduce the size of the ZARIX, go analyze the thingy. go to transaction SARI and search for the object your big ZARIX comes from.

i would do it another way. if you want to reduce your ZARIX* to zero, you might be fastest by dropping the table using tx. SE14 - you can rebuild the thing every time you choose. if you just want to reduce the size to say - documents of the actual fiscal year (or whatever criteria match your wishes) go to tx. SARI -> object name (like IDOC) -> 'status per archive'. here you can choose which archives you want to be removed from the ZARIX, meaning: for those archives you select there and then process using button 'reduce structure' the single rows in table ZARIXBC1 will be deleted. thus you can keep just as much as are needed.
Hi Ajay,
Your solution indeed reduces the size of the table but, also the sessions for which we deleted structures went into error, is this normal? if so what is the impact in a PRD environment?
Thanks.

Hi,
Yes, that is correct. This will lead to set the archive session no into error or Red signal light.
In Production system,
1. User should raise a request for the year and period he wants to retrieve archive data from the archive server,
2. we will activate archive infostructure and built the data for that session no (that particular Year/period). 3. This data can be accessed for 14 days or 2 weeks and then we have to delete built structure for that archive session no and deactivate it.
Or Depending on the business need you can change your plans like - Last one year of archived data can be retrieved from the archive. If user required any further old data they have to raise a request
Above process will help in maintaining / controlling the size of ZARIX table size.
-Thanks,
Ajay
Hi,
By using standard functionality - Delete structure selecting the archive session no you can delete the data from the ZARIX table. If you want to delete ZARIX table for infostructure then use Delete table that helps in deleting the respective table for Infostructure.
-Thanks,
Ajay
