No WebDynpro iView Template found in content administrator menu (NW 7.1)

Dear Sir/Madam,

I tried to integrate a sample application in my local portal, but I did not found the webdynpro iview template to accomplish this in the content adminstrator menu.

I found the webdynpro iview template for webdynpro ABAP, but not the on for webdynpro java.

Is this a problem of my installation or are there some prerequisites which I miss?

Many thanks in advance for any input on this.

I am using Netweaver 7.1.

Wolfgang Rothmayer.

Hi Wolfgang,

If you are working in NW 7.1 then you can see the webdynpro application with your project name deployed on under the Content Administration of portal.

There is no specific iView template for webDynpro for JAVA.

Just click that application project - > copy it - > go to your folder where you want to create an iView -> Paste it. It will automatically create an iView of that application.

I hope this will solve your issue.

Thanks and Regards,

Pravesh

Please follow these steps:

1) Check if you Content Adminsitration role.

2) Under Content Adminsitration - >Web Dynpro Application - > Search for your application.

3) Copy the application.

4) Go to the Portal content folder - > Select your folder -> Paste as PCD object.

You will get the view.

I hope this will solve your issue.

Thanks

Thank you for the input. It solved my problem

BTW, am I right that the configuration if two views contained in a component should be displayed in separated trays is made in the NWDS. Or are there preferences in the WebDynro iView configuration?

Hi Wolfgang,

Yes you are right! If you want to create the views as the part of same component then those views need to be designed and developed using NWDS not as the configurational part of WebDynro iView configuration.

I hope this helps!

Thanks and Reagrds

Hi,

Good that you found the solution... here is the help link for further reference.

Also, my mistake in earlier post, the portal that I referred was 7.0. Sorry for that

You have to select New -> iView

Then, Web Dynpro Java application - Create iViews from deployed Web Dynpro Java applications

and click next.

You will not find iView template directly for webdynpro Applications.

But in CE, you should get an option like "Web Dynpro Java application - Create iViews from deployed Web Dynpro Java applications" After selecting New --> iView.

The options that come for me are:

1. iView template

2. Portal Component

3. Web Dynpro Java application - Create iViews from deployed Web Dynpro Java applications

Sorry, but I did not found the menu you mentioned

1. iView template

2. Portal Component

3. Web Dynpro Java application - Create iViews from deployed Web Dynpro Java applications

Maybe this has vanished in NW 7.1. Do you have 7.1 installed or 7.0?
