Authorization variable set to "Ready for input" does not create a parameter

We are currently upgrading a set of reports from the original BW Query driver to the new MDX Query driver and have run into an issue. With the original driver, when you had an authorization variable that was set to "Ready for input" it created a corresponding variable in Crystal Reports. In upgrading to the MDX Query driver, these variables are no longer creating a Crystal side parameter.

Is this just the way it works with the MDX Query driver? Is there some way to get an authorization variable to generate a parameter in Crystal?
