Wrong valuation level when creating material

Hello, colleagues.

Valuation level set to Company Code (OX14), but when creating material master for the Accounting views (MM01) system proposes to enter Plant instead of Company Code.

S/4 HANA OnPremise 1709 FP01. ML Active.

This must be some inconsystency in system customizing or program error.

Do you have any ideas on where to look for a reason why?

    Response from SAP via Incident:

The reason why the plant field is coming up instead of the valuation area field is that the valuation level change from plant to company code was transported rather than done via OX14. Normally, OX14 not only changes the corresponding field in TCURM, but also adjusts several other database fields. You can see how those fields need to be adjusted in includes

    • MOMBDF11 FORM MOD_130F IF-branch TCURM-BWKRS_CUS = BEWBUKRS and
    • MOMBDF10 FORM MOD_T130C.

Those changes need to be done manually on the database now.

Instead we have swiched valuation level back and forth one more time with OX14 in each cliend, before material master migration.

I never worked with valuation level = company code.

But I wonder how SAP should know in MM01 organization pop-up that you are going to create a material for an organization where the valuation level is set to company code.

I mean it could only know this after the user entered a plant and pressed enter, and would then need to ask for a company code in that same screen. But if the plant is already entered, then SAP knows to which company this plant belongs, from this point of view if it would be superfluous to ask the user to enter the company code in that screen.
