Canvas not loading

Hello! I have started quite a complicated Xcelsius dashboard (15 pages - each page contains one radio button with 2 options that link to a page with 4-6 charts each). When I continue to build the additional pages, there comes a point when the file does not load the canvas anymore (after saving and re-opening it). I read that other users had the same problem and it's due to a corrupted object/file. I have Xcelsius Engage and all service packs/fixes installed. I was wondering wether there is a limit to how many objects/pages/excel tabs I can use and if this is causing my problem? I currently have 150+ objects (many of them grouped), 10+ radio buttons and 15 tabs in the excel (not a lot of data in them). Does anybody have any suggestions? Previous tips like rebuilding the canvas or disabling dynamic visibility are not really workable as I have so many objects. Many thanks for your help!

    Hi Dagmar,

You really have used a lot of objects, but theoretically, Xcelsius should be able to handle that (although ti isn't suggested!). What I would do is try to load your .XLF file on another PC to see if the canvas will load. If not, your file is likely corrupted. You will probably have to rebuild the file. One suggestion that has really helped cut down my frustration with Xcelsius is to save often, and to always save as a different file name. In that case, if something is corrupted, then you just load a version from a few hours ago and continue from there.

    I hope that helps!

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Hi Brian,

thanks for your answer. Actually I did exactly what you suggested. Tried the file on other PCs (they have the same problem) and then started from scratch and saved different versions of my work. But the same thing happened again. That's why I am thinking it overstretches the programm. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help. Dagmar
