Hi.....

Look for repeat delta u hav to set back the Delta pointer first........for that...........in the IP monitor........make the QM status manually red.......then the Delta pointer will be set back...........then delete the request from the target............Now if u try to Repeat the load...............System will ask u for Repeat delta......

Also check in RSA7.............select the datasource there >> F2..........there check whether Repeat delta Option is selected or not.....

Hi Debjani,

How to find out a cube is in overwrite mode or not?

Thanks,

Hi Prithwish......

A cube will never be in Overwrite mode.........cube is always additive........due to this in some Delta Process.....we need an ODS inbetween.......bcoz in ODS both the Update mode is possible ie Overwritten or Additive......for an example........An after image provides the status after the change, a before image the status before the change with a minus sign. A reverse image sends the

record with a minus sign too, indicating at the same time that it is to be deleted. The data packages are serialized in the process. The delta process controls whether adding or overwriting is allowed. In this case, both adding and overwriting is allowed. This process permits data to be updated in a DataStore object and in an InfoCube.

In case of ODS.............if u r in BI 7.0 then check the update mode in Transformation and if u r in BW 3.X.....then check in Update rule......

Debjani....

What kind of repeat ?? Your delta failed previously ??

What is your datsource name ?

Hi,

It is not Module specific, in ECC check in the table ROOSOURCE- see whether the DataSource supports Delta or not?. If the DataSuorce support Delta then it will support Repeat Delta.

Thanks

Hi Surendra,

The Delta Test Possible column is marked as 'X'.So it means repeat is possible.

I got your doubt .

If you using the Process chains so if the last delta failed then when run

again it will ask that last delta was not correct and do you want to repeat it .

So say yes and proceed .

But before that if there was any update at the target level delete that request manually from the target .

Assign marks is the best way to apprecaite help

Hi Rahul,

This is not about process chain failure. But thanx for your reply. Can you tell me in RSA3 extractor checker, the extracted data is of Full update or Delta update?

Hi......

Can you tell me in RSA3 extractor checker, the extracted data is of Full update or Delta update?

Generally it is F.

Thanks Debjani,

But can you tell me how to check in RSA3 whether it is Full or Delta?

Hi....

Look in RSA3 u can't check whether a datasource is delta enable or not........bcoz in RSA3 there will be F only......we should't use delta mode in RSA3.....bcoz this might lead to false interpretation of data already transferred to BW........Due to Plug-In Versions the delta mode in the extractor check is no longer permitted.........

U can check in the table ROOSOURCE........if the datasource exist there.........it means that the datasource is delta enable........

What does this mean ??

You are not supposed to check data in RSA3 in delta mode ??

Hi Praveen.....

No we r not suppose the Update mode Delta in RSA3...........it should be always F.....

If u use D in RSA3......then delta since last request will be transferred.......now suppse Delta load failed.......u want to do Repeat delta........in those cases it might lead to false interpretation that data already transferred to BW.........

Anyways.it is not permitted any more......

When you execute in Delta mode how would you expect to see repeat delta ??

But when you do RSA3 in delta mode it shows data from RSA7 delta queue.Ofcourse it depends on target sourcesystem.Doing this leads to no harm and its allowed as far as I know.

Prerequiste is you have done init in the BW system.

Anyways.it is not permitted any more......

From which version onwards of R3 ??
