print button

Please provide a way (eg, per print button) to print an SDN page without getting parts of the page cut off.

Example:

is a cookbook page I need to have at hand when doing a test installation.

Naively printing it results in text cut off at the right margin.

Workarounds:

I dont see why I should need to cut and paste the text into some other tool, just to print it from there.

For example, newspapers publish their articles with lots of advertising on Internet pages; for printing an arcticle they offer a print button which prepares a printable version, without ads, but possibly added value, like print date time stamp, etc.

I would welcome this as improved usability feature.

My first suggestion, by mail to sapnetwork@sap.com, was answered by David Branan, as follows:

Subject: Re: SCN Support suggestion (KMM4870906I24953L0KM)

Hello Hans,

I am sorry but that is not offered. Try highlighting the page and copying it into a word document using Paste Special so it doesn't copy as html.

Forgive my stubborn-nes: this is my second, and last try If others are interested too this suggestion might get a 2nd chance.

Thanks, Hans (BST NW Core AS&DM I18N Wdf)

Hello Hans,

I am sorry you are upset as my suggestion was not meant to do that. As you know from your own work, we are not going to be able to provide a code solution to you via an email from sdn@sap.com. There is a process around new code development. These processes are designed to ensure that quality solutions are provided and that these solutions do not conflict with existing code line.

I am sure the site content managers will read this thread and can request that a modification be made such as you suggest. This can then be developed, tested by our QA group, and then incorporated in to our release schedule.

Kind Regards,

David
