ADS - SAP Summer Camp 2018

Today there was the Summer Camp 2018 Webcast about ADS with Chris Franz.

Are there any information available?

Shame this was not better advertised. Encouraging to see less of a silence on Advantage.

It seems that it was not publicly announced, but advertised through SAP distributors only. I was informed some 5 weeks before.

I was also informed through my distributor. But the starting time was wrong. So I missed it all.

I was informed by a customer ... then I contacted the distributor to get the invitation.

I am extremely disappointed!

During the webinar, Mr. Franz told us that there is already a new ADS Road Map posted at SAP roadmaps at the very moment this webinar is running. But it wasn't. A week later I asked him via email about this. He answered that this will take "a bit longer". One month later (six weeks ago) I asked again, but got no answer. I'm afraid there is and will be no new Road Map at all. And - subsequently - no foreseeable future.

So after nearly 17 years of ADS we are forced to pull the plug and look for another database.

The webcast was sort of hidden and nowhere mentioned of SAP's web site (you could google it before and got no result!). As I already mentioned, it was advertised through SAP distributors only. So unlike other SAP webcasts there is no official replay. Unfortunately I did not record it.

I have seen parts of the roadmap during the webcast, it was dated 2017, so actually it should already be published... when it will be published it was said you will find it at https://www.sap.com/products/roadmaps.html.

The webcast was about the current status of ADS. What is ADS, what can you do with ADS, SQL, ISAM, data types and so on. What are the new features of ADS 12. etc.pp.

There will be an updated road map during this week.
