Configure STMS

Hello All:

My system information

OS:Windows Server 2003

SAP System:ECC6.0 with ABAP+JAVA

DB:SQL Server 2005

When i Configure STMS there is an error message

"errors occurred during distribution of tp configuration"

Anyone who can give me some advice?

Yesterday some friends gived me some advices but the problem still happened.

check sapmnt permission if all permission to the folder sapmnt is not given first give that.

This method cannot work.

From command prompt run the command tp connect <SID> and see the errors.

If any errors check the transport routes correctly configured, transport directory location

There is "dbs/mss/schema = <SID>" in my default profile

Details error message like this:

"Invalid profile parameter dbms/type

1. what is the databae you are using

2. who is the schema owner of your database,you can check that in SAP screen by going to SAP Easy ACCESS SCREEN ,then system->status,there it will give you the info. who is the schema owner

The location where you run R3trans -d a log file " trans.log" is created. Read that file for more detail info

The full details about my issues is:

OS:Windows Server 2003

DB:SQL Server 2005

Host name:FXISDL

OWNER:ddc

Some information in my DEFAULT.PFL

"dbms/type = mss

dbs/mss/server = FXISDL

dbs/mss/dbname = DDC

dbs/mss/schema = ddc"

First I did T-code u201CSE06"

And then i used T-code"STMS"

In the first screen,i enter the "SAVE"button

The error message shows "errors occurred during distribution of tp"

I sellect Overview~~>Systems~~>SAP System~~>Check~~>Transport Tool

The error message is"Link to database failed"

Aslo i sellect Overview~~>Systems~~>Environment~~>TMS Alerts~~>TMS Alert Viewer

The error message is"Transport control program tp ended with error code 0212"

I also login use <SID>adm type cmd command E:\usr\sap\DDC\DVEBMGS00\exe\R3trans.exe

and the error message is"Invalid profile parameter dbms/type

This seems to be an environment varaible issue

Log on to your OS system with <sid>adm user

and set the following user variables if they are not set:

Variable value

DBMS_TYPE mss

MSSQL_DBNAME <SID>(in capital letters)

MSSQL_SCHEMA <sid>(in small letters)

MSSQL_SERVER <SID>

I feel setting DBMS_TYPE must solve your issue.

If it doesnt execute R3trans -d and let us know the error

Also check in dev_w0 if any error is there or not

In SAP screen(when you login) go to system->status

There it will show you the schema owner->I assume it is dbo

Go at OS level with user <sid>adm,open command prompt and type command "set"

This will list all the environment variables for user <sid>adm,check if the follwoing varaibles are set:

DBMS_TYPE=mss

MSSQL_DBNAME=<SID>

MSSQL_SCHEMA=<sid>

MSSQL_SERVER=<server name>

if not set these varaibles and try again

I think you need to check your database connections with SAP System.
