Hi,
can anyone explain me what is Picking. how it works.and how the stock determinations takes place for picking.
regards
ravi.
Hi Ravi,
Picking enables you to provide the components for each selected production orders.
for picking process, generates goods issue posting and piking list.
transaction used is CO27.
The first selection generates the list of components for selected procduction orders.from this you have to select the parts to be picked or u can select the components also.
the picking button enables you to first carry out stock determination for each component requirement. If the component requirements are available the stock determination identifies the storage location and ny splits that exists.as a result of above u get a picking list that contain the line detailing quantity and storage locations for each component.
When you save the picking list, the goods issue posting takes place.
OPJ2 and OSPX transaction is used to configure stock determination rule.stock determination rule is assigned to Material master in Plant Data / Storage 2 View.

Vijay.

Hi,
If you mean picking for production order...T Code-CO27 Picking Components (Picking List)
Use:
For picking, the warehouse manager selects the specific picking list, which can be called up directly with the production order number. The warehouse manager has a series of further selection options that enable him/her to optimally select the work list.

Hi,
Picking (t-code: co27)
This is a list which shows the components which are required by various orders, the need date, the required qty, the committed qty for these needs & also shows you if any component has been withdrawn. So based on this, you can proceed to issue the components to the orders
stock determinations (t-code: OSPX)
Well when the system does an availability check for the components in production orders, you can define how, where & which stocks the system should check & the sequence in which it should do. Once defined you assign the same for production orders in OPJ2. Also note you can do stock determinations in other areas of business as well.
Hope the above helps.
Regards,
Vivek
