Hi Experts,
We are implementing CRM 2007.
I have a query regarding the Client-Based GWI, I looked up for notes related to Client-Based GWI and see that there are some correction which result in a newer version of the setup.exe file, the latest version being 3.045(Note 1317864).
After applying the note in the CRM system is it also mandatory to deploy the latest version of the setup.exe on all usersu2019 PCu2019s?
If yes what is the best way for this deployment?
Regards,
Kiran
this depends on the autorization model you are using for your users machines.
If users are autorized to install SW you don´t need to do much.
a. just apply the note
b. with every user synching it askes the user to install the upgrade as local installed version is out-of-date
c. locally changed properties are retained
if your users do not have admin rights you need to distribute via SW deployment tools like SMS and run in silent mode.
hope that helps

The answer to your question if you have to deploy new setup.exe to users is YES.
How to do it can be the bigger issue. If don't have a lot of users then this shouldn't be the problem.
If you have a lot of users then first try if you distribute new sw does this overrides also the settings or not. I guess that not. Then this could be done via standard procedure for upgrading sw.
