USD Dep Area with particular exchange rate

Hi Friends.

Because of hyper inflation in a particular Latin American country, business wants to report the USD values of the asset based on a particular exchange rate, which reflects the hyper inflationary state.

Let's say the inflation is 10% and the value of the asset is 25000 pesos in local currency now. Next month, the value of the asset will be 27,500 pesos in local currency. Accordingly, the exchange rate will be modified from the existing, say, 1$=25 pesos to 1$= 27.5 pesos. So the $ value will ignore the hyperinflationary state of the economy.

There is already a dep area in US$, but that converts at M rate. We need to have another dep area for US$ that converts at the hyperinflationary rate. Since the co. code is already live, we can't configure another currency in OB22. The local currency is peso and group currency is $.

Can we create another dep area in US$ and have the values for this area convert from peso to $ at the defined exchange rate through a user exit or a program?

Any other suggestions on how this can be achieved? Please remember that in inflationary accounting for assets normally practiced in SAP, we have a separate dep area in local currency and have the values convert to the hyper inflated value through the use of indexes and values therein. Here, we are talking about reporting values in US$, which is not a local currency.

Regards,

Varun
