Hello,

Our Hana System based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.5 (Maipo) with Hana version 2.00.020.00.1500920972 (fa/hana2sp02)

CPU details from LS CPU command:

CPU(s): 32 On-line

CPU(s) list: 0-31

Thread(s) per core: 1

Core(s) per socket: 16

Socket(s): 2

We are facing issues with CPUs which reaches to 100% ,which causes system hang for long time and affects users.

With our observation while executing or data preview on complex calc views this situations happens.

Also sometimes after restart CPU utilization is very very high without any user tasks .. and memory usage is also very high just after restart.

Below values are just immediate after restart with command free -g

total used free shared buff/cache available Mem:

440 271 133 1 36 166

Could you please help me any memory / CPU tuning to get best performance from the Hana system?

Note : We are on MDC with one Tenant DB Thank you..

Thank and Regards

Please check first the SAP HANA CPU faq and follow the recommendations. this will not fix your issue, please use the HANASitter, collect the necessary files and open an incident at the side of the support to analyzing the root cause.

Hi Sampath,

at first RHEL7.5 (note 2235581) is currently not supported to run a prod. HANA system. Secondly please use a newer revision. You are running rev. 20 which was the first one of SPS2. This one has a lot of known issues.

Do you use sapconf for the linux kernel configuration? Please keep an eye on the c-states.

Do you have configured the HANA with the parameter statement attached to note 1969700? For analyzing the reason for the high CPU utilization just use the time frame report, minichecks and statements within the SQL section. Do you observe heavy unloads?

Regards,

Jens
