Problem with attaching documents to SC/PO-BBP_PDH_TEXT / CFilesApp.JAR IE7

Hi all,

We have major problems with some users of SRM not able to attach any documents to shopping carts or POs using the "Search and Add" functionality. Whenever this button is clicked, the browser just freezes up and stops responding. The only action possible on the browser is to use task manager to close it.

The problem is highly intermittent among the user base and sometimes on same PCs. It will work at one point in time for a user, for a SC/PO, and the next minute, the browser freezes up!

Having contacted SAP, note 1034072 has been updated with the latest JAR file. Following the instructions provided in note 1060922, we uploaded the new file into BBP_PDH_TEXT, but to no avail.

Internet explorer version 7; JRE Version 6 Update 5 (build 1.6.0_05-b13).

Looks like this is a known issue for quite sometime, but highly intermittent and impossible to narrow it down to a particular root cause.

Any inputs, suggestions would be welcome.

many thanks,

NP

Hope you have followed note 1060922 - FAQ: How to integrate the new CFILESAPP.JAR into SRM appln.

But just wanted stress one line in that: Install SUN Java Virtal Machine Version 1.4.2_13 (current up to Q1/2007) to optimize the performance of the applet.

Please chek the JVM and update with the latest.

As you can see in my original message, I can confirm that we have followed the note 1060922.

Also, JVM is now called JRE (Please see Java.com), and I have also confirmed that we are running JRE version 1.6, which is the latest available from Java currently.

Nikhil,

Did you ever resolve this?  I see this thread is quite old, but we have been having very similar issues, with almost identical setup as you describe.

Best regards,

Hi,

There are some issues with the JAVA Archive (JAR) can ypu please check possibility of CAB instead. So you can deactivate the Java Plug-in for attachments via SPRO...

Supplier Relationship Management--> SRM Server --> Cross-Application Basic Settings

--> Define Settings for Attachments

Thanks

Zameer, Thanks, but can you tell me what is the difference?

Once I deactivate the Java applet, will the system automatically start using the CAB file from SE80?

Hi,

can you tell me what is the difference?

Why do I have to use applet java to upload an attachment?

Is recommended to disable the Java applet to upload an attachment?

Best regards!
