Increase retention period for successful messages in a system that is not PI

Hello All,

I have a requirement wherein, the retention period for successful messages have to be increased so that they remain in sxmb_moni for more than a day. If I set that up in ERP system in SXMB_ADM tCode, will that have any effect on corresponding PI's performance?

Hello Ajeya,

No this won't have a performance impact on PI system but it could have a performance impact on ERP.

You need to ensure you have the delete jobs set up and working (in ERP) to meet your business requirements. See note 872388 Troubleshooting Archiving and Deletion in PI, for details on this.

If you have sufficient DB space, then there would not be a major impact on increasing the retention period but it depends on the volume and size of messages you are processing and also the frequency of your delete jobs.
