FI Reinitialization

Hello Experts,

We need to do reinitialization of the entire FI Data in production system. GL, AR and AP. We have Data from 1997 in SAP R/3 System for GL, AR and AP.

Datasources are u2013 0FI_GL_4

0FI_AR_4

0FI_AP_4

Following are the steps we are proceeding with

1. First Delete the data from GL ODS and GL Cube

2. GL Init without data transfer and without giving any selections

3. Repair Full Load starting with the 2009 year. First 2009 data will load so that latest data will be available for business to report on. We will be loading till PSA first and then manual update till ODS. This is because if we do PSA and Data target in series then it will be loaded in the dialogue process consuming more time and more chances of failure due to time out error when huge data is there. Till PSA and then data target will go in background doing it more faster.( Please suggest)

4. After doing GL repair full loads will do delta load for GL.

5. Delete the data from AR ODS and AR Cube

6. AR Init without data transfer and without giving any selections

7. Repair Full Load starting with the 2009 year. Load till PSA first and then manual update till ODS.

8. After doing AR repair full loads will do delta load for AR.

9. Delete the data from AP ODS and Cube

10. Then, AP Init without data transfer and without giving any selections

11. Repair Full Load starting with the 2009 year. Load till PSA first and then manual update till ODS.

12. After doing AP repair full loads will do delta load for AP.

Could anyone let us know, if we can load GL, AR and AP simultaneously. For Example, Doing init of GL, then init of AR and then init for AP, then doing Repair full for year 2009 for GL and then AR and AP and so on.

If this is possible latest data will be available for business as this is production system.

Also, please let us know about the precautions to be taken while doing init.

Thanks,

Shalaka

You can do it without any problem.

Just curious as to what happened ? Why reinit ?

Hi Praveen,

There was some reason due to which deltas broke.

Thanks,

You mean init broke ?

If deltas had some problem, you could have pulled repair(as applicable to FI) right ??

By putting the timestamp indicator from where you wanted data.

Hi Praveen,

Currently we are doing repair full only since delts are not coming. So we need to set the delta process again by doing Init all over again.

I meant repair Delta (this is done in a different way for FI where you pull back the timestamp field in BWOM2_TIMEST) not repair full.

I think you have lost your init, in this case you have to go with reinit itself. But I am not sure how delta's stopped coming though.

Hi Praveen,

We are setting up a new delta load using 0FI_AP_4 datasource. I have added some new fields and am triggering the fill using a bus. transaction event / FM.

We had previously played with the 0FI_GL_4 datasource, but I have now deleted all the extracted data and the init queue for it.

problem is now that we can init the delta load, but any subsequent deltas do not pull any data even though we have created some. Any ideas? Is the old GL_4 init interfering somehow still or is there a timestamp I should be clearing?

Thanks!

Hi,

Repair Full Load starting with the 2009 year. First 2009 data will load so that latest data will be available for business to report on. This is because if we do PSA and Data target in series then it will be loaded in the dialogue process consuming more time and more chances of failure due to time out error when huge data is there. Till PSA and then data target will go in background doing it more faster.( Please suggest)

--> Load data using PSA and datatarget in parallel and try to increase parallel processes based on availabiltity of processes(default ODS takes 3 processes). Check with Basis to increase background processes and also request them to to give priority(A) to certian jobs if possible.

--> Load data offpeack time.

--> Try to empty PSA and/or change log data for space before loading.

--> Delete/clear rollback memory after deleting data.

--> Data can be loaded into an ODS in parallel for GL itself with different selections.

Hope it Helps
