To have all the Months as column in a report view

Hello Experts,

Currently in our opportunity process we are making use of the Revenue splits. So once the Deal is won the sales managers will split the revenue generated from that opportunity across the months.

For this, the customer wants to have a custom report (table view) which gives the details such as Opportunity name, account, sales manager, expected value along with the revenue split amounts across the months. So basically there should be 12 columns for months (revenue split done in the current year),12 more columns (revenue split done in next year) along with the other columns(account, opportunity, manager etc) in a single report view. And the last column should be the Revenue generated column (expect revenue).

Is it possible to realize such a requirement?

Any inputs or workarounds on this would be much appreciated.

We have currently made use of the Revenue Schedule data source.

Thanks and Regards,

Aditya Shetty

Hi Aditya

You should be able to achieve this:

1. For the fact that it should be current year and then Next year, you can use the Selection parameter available in the Data Source for 'Revenue Plan Distribution Date' - use the standard relative select Current Year and Next Year

2. For the months to appear as columns, move the 'Revenue Plan Month and Year' characteristic to the columns

Then you would get the desired results in the desired format

Hi Vinita,

Thank you for your response.

I tried with the exact approach but the problem in my case is that I have one more key figure - Project Value. So what is happening is that when I move the Revenue Plan month and Year to column field, it will split up the Project value into many columns which is not desired in my case. Project value is the total revenue generated from that opportunity and according to the requirement this should be present a single column and should not split up. (please see screenshot)

So as a workaround, I created 24 restricted key figure for months and selected the Variable Label to dynamically display the year (eg: January 2018). By doing so I'm able to meet the requirement but not sure if this is the correct approach to create so many custom key figures.

Thanks and Regards,
