Could not connect to the database - UPM IS WORKING. DATABASE IN USE

Hi,

I'm experiencing difficulties to connect to DB's above version 12.

Currently testing with the developer edition of SQL Anywhere 16, and trying to connect to a restored archive and I get the following error:

[SAP][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]RAISERROR executed: UPM IS WORKING. DATABASE IN USE

SQLCODE=-99109

SQLSTATE=HY000

...

I tried starting the server manually via the console and could see the following errors:

...

Database server started at Wed Jul 11 2018 15:32

Trying to start SharedMemory link ...

SharedMemory link started successfully

Now accepting requests

Security: Version 7

Security: An error occurred during database startup. System is locked.

pr_bi_event: sf_get_event_start_enabled() < 1

...

This works in Version 12. I do wonder what has changed.

The messages that you encountering are not coming from SQL Anywhere - it is coming from the schema of the database. This question should be directed to the developer of the database schema.

Thanks for the feedback and I'll get in touch with the developers in charge of the DB schema.

However, I still don't get why it works with V12 and not with V16.
