BPC 5.1 and 7.0NW client

Hi,

We have both BPC 5.1 and 7.0NW servers. We installed BPC 7.0NW client on our desktops. Using this client we are not able to access BPC 5.1. Is there any workarounds to access both BPC 5.1 and 7.0NW using a single client on our desktop?

regards,

Lokesh Nandula

    Hi Lokesh,

It is not possible to have both BPC 5.1 or 7 (MS) and BPC 7.0 (NW) clients on the same desktop. As work around, you could install one of this in your Citrix network.

Thanks Kranthi. Citrix and VMWare are some options.

BPC client looks almost same in these versions and they access the BPC application server. So thought there should be some way to access different servers using same client.

BPC client looks like interface the same but like dll are different.

Because BPC client it is an add ins into excel and both version NW and M are using the same name for add ins then it is not possible to use into same computer BPC client for M and BPC client for NW.

Both are using SOAP but the interface from .Net server of NW consumed by SAP BPC client and interface from Applicatiuon server of M version are different.

I just provide you some information why it is not possible to have both version BP client M and BPC client NW installed into same PC.

      Hi Lokesh,

On my machine, i got SAP BPC 5.1 and Outlooksoft 4.2 on Windows 2003. I am able to run both clients independent to their logon. I too have SAP BPC 5.1 clien on its own in Windows 2007 operating system. With Windows 2003, SAP BPC 5.1 and Outlooksoft 4.2 clients independent of their log on and running clients is working fine.

You need to use independent log on to SAP BPC 5.1 and run the respective clients, also use independent log on to SAP BPC 7.0 NW as well and run the clients independent to NetWeaver BPC application server. For this to be done make sure, you will have windows 2007 which they are compatible to eliminate Excel Crashing. You are good as long as you don't try integrating SAP BPC 5.1 with SAP BPC 7.0 NetWeaver. You need to treat them as 2 different systems.

4.2 with 5.X or 7.x Microsoft client can be installed into same computer.

5.x with 7.x and version can not be installed into same computer. Always you will have issues.
