Change max vCPU setting on LPAR : online or offline ?

We need to increase the value for max vCPU setting of one of our LPAR. We have a 24/7 business running on the SAP system hosted on that LPAR so we would like to have it done transparently. Is there any way to do this change online ? We've been told that we must shut down the LPAR to change the setting in LPAR config and that we therefore needs unavailability. It seems that LPM functionality cannot help in such a case either

So we're really looking for a way to do it online , does any of you know how to increase mx vCPU setting in LPAR config without downtime ?

    Hello François,

changing the maximum vCPU of an LPAR would require to change it's profile, which means that the LPAR has to be deactivated and reactivated. Only the entitled (desired) values can be modified online, within the boundaries of the minimum/maximum set.
