Hello SAC Experts,
currently working on the first SAC prototype. When I import my flat file data it is complaining that for a date field there are blanks.
However, that the date field is not filled for all records is totally valid. So how do I trick data validation to ignore so that I can actually create the model? I tried to assign # for blanks but data validation is also complaining about this.
Any ideas?
Thanks and best regards,
Axel

Hi Mudunuri,
thanks for the detail step by step.... however, with this I got a lot of data on 01/01/1900 appearing in charts etc. (but I guess then with an exclude filter I could hide it .... need to try)
But basically it is not possible to have an empty date field, right?
Best regards,
Axel

Yes, Empty date fields are not accepted
If you have 01-01-1900 for the records, then try with some future date ex:01-01-2099
or
If you have multiple date fileds try other field having all the values as date.screenshot6.jpgscreenshot7.jpg
Note: Do you want to use that date field in reports? otherwise change the type of Date field to Dimension
