Hi friends,
Is there any background job that can be automatically be scheduled to delete the filling up of Sap arch diectory which is under /oracle<SID>/saparch.
Thanks,
please help.
hi,
To delete any log on /oracle/<SID>/saparch, you can run cleanup log background job. This job is part of housekeeping job which is mandatory for SAP Basis to run regularly.
You can run via DB13.

Hi,
whatever the purpose, you can do this job at OS level. on Unix environment, you can schedule is using crontab/ cronjobs. on Windows, you can do with scheduled task that runs bat job periodically delete file from saparch directory.
we usually do this for our sandbox server, to delete oracle archivelog because of space concerns and our sandbox server is not managed in our backup strategy.
hope it help you.

why are you looking to delete files from saparch directory?
in production system it is recommended that you should take redo logs back daily(frequency depends on the amount of work that is happening in the system) apart from full backups and that will solve your issue
you will not face this saparch directory issues
