EP installation after NetWeaver 2004s is already installed

Hi Experts,

we have a doublestack server on which a NetWeaver 2004s including Solution Manager and BI components are already installed. Now we want to implement a enterprise portal as it is mandatory for BI Java / BEx Web.

Does anybody know how to implement EP in this case? I only can find installation guides for the entire NetWeaver 2004s but not just for EP component...

Hi,

If u have BI Java already installed then EP MUST be present as its a pre-requisite for BI Java.

For EP installtion select the EP and EP core usage type and install it.

I don't think there is seperate instalation guide for EP.

Thanks for your answer. From where do I get the EP and EP Core to install it? Service Marketplace provides SAP Enterprise Portal (installation product) -> Drag & Relate Meta Data -> SAP_WPDRMD -> SAP_WPDRMD 640 -> CAR SAPKQDRB01 Drag and Relate Objects version 640/01

Is this the right file? How can I install this? I heard of SDM but I don't know how this works or even where it is available....

Forget drag and relate. I expect there are fewer than 5 people using this function! EPC and EP are part of all SP stacks. You should be able to get them from your SolMan system under the maintenance optimizer. We don't normally use SDM - we use JSPM as a frontend.

Before you go any further, you might want to go back to basics. My recommendation is not to install BI or any "real" applications on Solution Manager. Solution Manager's job is to manage the landscape, not to act as a functional platform.
