Valuation category

Dear all,

I am using valuation category "X" for an item to have batch level valuation. But we can not assign other valuation types to category "X".

Requirement is when the material moved to other location, for ex: that batch issued for 'refurbishment' process and received back. Now i want evaluate that material as Refurbished or Defective. Is it possible to extend the same material for other valuation category?

We cant extend material to another valuation category. We have mapped the scenario in other way.

I am closing this questions.

No it's not.

Why do you use valuation category X (valuation on batch level) in the first place if you want to have split valuation on "refurbished", "defective", "not refurbished" levels?

Dear Dominik,

The item requires batch valuation at the time of purchase. So I am using batch level valuation.

Business situation: Item is valuated at batch level during the receipt from vendor. If the item has not sold for long time, as a periodic maintenance, item will be issued to work shop and refurbished. Later it will valuate as refurbished or obsolete.

Hi,

Probably, you may have to follow a complete cycle of refurbishment process as example given in the link:

Dear Mr. Balasubramanian,

That link gives complete information about the work shop process (Refurbish, repair ..ect) and valuation types. But these steps, we have already mapped.

My question is simple; can we extend a material to multiple 'Valuation categories'?

I think, its not possible.

You are right - it's not possible.
