flow of a asset from investment management to project management

hi guys,

any body know the flow of investment management to project management. suppose we have a requirement to purchase one asset. to buy that asset we need to prepare a investment programme, and we need to settle costs in controlling, we need to do a project in PM module.

what is the flow,

thanks for reply, i know IM, but i am unable to understand the entire flow when we we buy asset and doing AUC. in between there is a impact on IM, Controlling and PS, please give a example
