Is the entire range of "required" SAP ports necessary? For example, If I am opening SAPGUI communication, do I need the entire range of 3200-3299 ports to be opened if I only have 4 or 5 instance numbers involved? Similarly, with regard to RFC ports, does the entire range of ports need to be opened through the firewall, i.e. 3300-3399\4800-4899? Also, with regard to Solution Manager particularly, do "all" port ranges need to be opened between all application and database servers bidirectionally for communication or is there a specific port range needed for that communication? We would like to close any unnecessary firewall holes. I cannot find clear documentation on this.
