Hi All,
I am doing hetrogeneous system copy testing LAP2 and during import phase while installing the system it throws me out every time during phases like : DBCREATEDB_IND_ORA / DBPOSTBUILD_IND_ORA / DBPOSTDBCREATEUSER_IND_ORA by giving Bus error / Segmentation fault with core and installation does not go beyond any of the phases mentioned above.
I had also checked with OS team and they say this is application related core.
SAP : 4.6B
Kernel : 4.6D_EXT
Patch: 2364
DB: Oracle 9.2.0.1.0
R3Setup Version: VERSION: 20050101 DB-TYPE: ora
OS : Solaris 5.10
I have checked all the environment variables are set..especially ORA_NLS33 coz i read somwhere that it can also result in core dump Bus Error.

You serious?
Install the current 9.2.0.8 patchset and try again.
9.2.0.1 is not supported and has never been.

You may want to make use of your maintenance fees and open a support message.

Lars

Hi Lars,
Thanxs for the reply....
i already tried by upgarding the patch set to 9.2.0.8.0 before your reply and i am still getting Bus error core dumped..
I have already made use of the maintenance fees and opened a support message they are working on it...
My concern is why it is giving this kind of error in this DB migration coz i haven't recieved any in previous 3-4 Migrations i did...
Regards,
Sohal...

well, actually I don't think that you're hitting bug here. BUS ERRORs are rather seldomly caused by programming errors.
In fact, if this would be my machine, I'd be checkin the hardware...
Did you try to install the same software on a different machine? Did you ran into the issue there as well?
regards,
Lars
