hello all
our end users have an application that automatically reads counters and downloads the reading to a file (Excel or others).
They have a lot of readings, therefore their best solution would be to upload this file directly to the system with some transaction.
I searched IK34 but it seems that the readings must be entered manually: is that correct?
is there a way where the business can upload this file with a transaction? I am aware of LSMW but the users cannot use this and they must be able to perform this task by themselves.
ideas are welcome
Alisa
Best way is to create entry list in IK31 and then use it with t code IK34. IBIP is also a good way if you want to upload using MS Excel. Generally business users like MS Excel approach. But you will have to work on the MS Excel template. It will be good if you copy the data first in the SAP application server so that you will have the evidence of data and then run IBIP. IBIP is considered as an old method to upload measuring point readings.

Hi Alisa ,
You can use the Transaction IBIP to uploads the reading results
You can create the text file using the Excel IBIP Tool without ABAP programing
Let me know if you need help with it

thank you Ziv
I am flying to the plant on Sunday so sometimes next week I will send you the file.
Hello Alisa - you may need a special program; see this blog: https://blogs.sap.com/2014/04/06/regular-mass-uploads-of-measuring-documents-tools-available/
As for LSMW, you can restrict that by authorization; we do that for some power users who are allowed to upload LSMW's but it is restricted by authorization to that particular LSMW
